David was such a special person in so many many peoples lives and without him there will be a gaping hole . As our brother in law for more than 30 years now we loved him for his humour , his smile, his kindness and his ability to make whomever he was talking to feel special . In fact we thought of him as our brother . Life is too too cruel to take away such a gentleman of a man but we will do our best to support Val and Finn going forward in life . A friend sent a poem which resonated so much with us about David - “ Everything remains exactly as it was . I am I and you are you and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched , unchanged .
